Welcome to our school

Home

Welcome to the website of Roger Ascham Primary School.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of such a happy and successful school. Our pupils are our most valuable asset and it is they who make our school the calm, purposeful and welcoming place that visitors to our school consistently comment upon.

Our dedicated staff are committed to providing the best guidance and opportunities for all our children who in turn respond positively and successfully to the high expectations we have of their behaviour and academic progress. They develop as ambitious and reflective learners and responsible, caring individuals.

I hope you find our website interesting and useful. If you would like to visit our school, please contact the office to make an appointment. We look forward to seeing you.

Kind regards,

Matt Hanks

Headteacher

    Ofsted say that:

'Roger Ascham School provides an outstanding education for all its pupils. It enables pupils to be the best they can be, enjoy and succeed in their schooling, become independent, reflective learners and take responsibility for themselves and each other.'

This 'outstanding' judgement - made in June 2009 - enabled us to convert last year to an academy. Being an academy gives us more independence to determine for ourselves how to develop as a school and improve the provision for all pupils. You can learn more about what being an academy means by visiting the site's 'academy' page; if you would like to read more of what Ofsted said about us please visit the 'Ofsted' page, http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/ELS/103056.
